The Punjab Kings edged out the Gujarat Titans in a thrilling 2026 Indian Premier League encounter, winning by three wickets in a last-over finish at New Chandigarh.

Chasing 163, Punjab reached 165/7 in 19.1 overs after Gujarat had posted 162/6 from their 20 overs.

Gujarat’s innings was built around a steady 39 from skipper Shubman Gill, while their total was kept competitive by disciplined batting through the middle overs. However, Punjab’s bowlers, led by Vijaykumar Vyshak (3/34), restricted the Titans from accelerating late.

In reply, Punjab Kings were powered by a sensational unbeaten 72 off 44 balls from debutant Cooper Connolly, who was named Player of the Match. Despite a mid-innings collapse, his composure under pressure guided Punjab home with five balls to spare.
