THREE LIONS SURVIVE CONGO SCARE
England survived a major scare to book their place in the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over DR Congo in Atlanta.
Thomas Tuchel’s side looked to be heading for a shock exit after Brian Cipenga fired the African nation into an early lead, while goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi produced a string of outstanding saves to frustrate the Three Lions.
