CATALANS CLAIM BRAGGING RIGHTS & TITLE

FC Barcelona clinched the La Liga title on Sunday with a 2-0 win over rivals Real Madrid in El Clásico at Camp Nou.

The win sealed Barcelona’s 29th league title and marked the first time the championship was officially decided by an El Clásico.

Hansi Flick’s side needed only a draw to mathematically secure the championship, but they delivered a dominant performance that underlined their superiority throughout the season. Barcelona started aggressively and took the lead after just nine minutes when Marcus Rashford curled a superb free kick beyond Thibaut Courtois. Ferran Torres doubled the advantage less than 10 minutes later after a clever attacking move involving Dani Olmo.

Real Madrid offered little in response and lacked creativity without the injured Kylian Mbappé. Jude Bellingham briefly thought he had reduced the deficit, but his goal was ruled out for offside as Barcelona remained in control throughout the second half.

The victory also continued Flick’s remarkable record in El Clásico, with the German coach now winning six of his opening seven meetings against Madrid. Barcelona’s triumph sparked huge celebrations inside Camp Nou as supporters celebrated not only another league crown, but a historic title-clinching victory against their greatest rivals.
