Man City’s march to another title seems inevitable while Southampton is on the verge of bowing out of the top flight.

Fulham vs Manchester City

30/04/23 – 15:00

City overcame their biggest hurdle when they despatched Arsenal. The emphatic style of their win was an indication of how strong they are at the most vital stage of the football season. The maths is simple for City. Win all seven remaining games and retain the title. But this team, dreaming about the treble, are motivated.

Pep Guardiola’s side are likely to continue their winning run here. A win and they go above Arsenal, who play Chelsea on Tuesday. Should City also win their game in hand, they will have a 4-point cushion over the Gunners and the EPL trophy will be decorated with blue and white ribbons before the final weekend.

After back-to-back wins Fulham fell to defeat on Tuesday, losing 1-0 to Aston Villa. They have now only won two of their last eight games in the Premier League. They have lost only five matches on home soil in the league this season, but three of those losses have come in their last six at Craven Cottage.

For Fulham, currently sitting in mid table safety, this game is more of a free hit. Without any expectations, we should see some attacking football from the Cottagers. But there should be only one outcome at the final whistle. A comfortable win for Man City.

Newcastle vs Southampton

30/04/23 – 15:00

Newcastle were impressive against struggling Everton on Thursday night. The Toons form will be an ominous sign for the Saints who need to win if they are to have any chance of staying up.

The future is nothing but bright for the Magpies and anyone associated with the club. They’re probably the richest club in the world right now. Their standard of football has massively improved under Eddie Howe. The new signings have been excellent and they’re looking strong to finish in the top four.

The win at Goodison Park put them eight points clear in the top four with a game in hand, while marking their seventh victory in eight outings. Now the focus of Eddie Howe’s men will be to register a fourth straight home win. Every sportsbook expects a comfortable win for them on Sunday.

It seems like the end is near for the Saints, following that 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth at St Mary’s. They showed a glimmer of promise when they held Arsenal to a 3-3 draw at the Emirates. But that performance seems like a long-forgotten memory now. The trip to St James’ Park could be the final nail in the coffin for Ruben Selles and his lads.

Southampton must face Nottingham Forest, Fulham, Brighton, and Liverpool on the last day. Yes, they’re still in with a chance to survive the drop but must be realistic! Three teams must go down and unfortunately for the Saints – time is almost up.
