Everyone despises the international break. It’s the ultimate momentum breaker. In England, it’s full steam ahead in the title race between the Gunners and City.

Manchester City vs Liverpool

The Citizens are competing on three fronts, but this weekend their focus is on the League. And Liverpool. Manchester City

come into the game on a six-game winning run. They’ve kept 5 clean sheets and scored 23 goals. City’s Viking, Erling Haaland has been a menace through the run but is a doubt for this game.

City have played a game less than Arsenal, a win will reduce the Gunners lead to 5 points to increase the pressure on Arteta’s young squad. And Arsenal must still visit the Etihad.

This time last year, the Scousers were in a similar position to City. Jurgen Klopp’s men were chasing a dreamlike quadruple crown. Now, their only major highlight has been the historic 7-0 win over arch-rivals United. Unfortunately, that was short-lived. They lost the very next game away at relegation threatened Bournemouth. Fourth is the only reward left to fight for and they are likely to go all out to salvage something from this season.

If Haaland is fit, he’ll be the key player for City. Mo Salah will need another cracking performance for Pool to stay in the hunt for that Champions League spot. City will have it in their DNA to grind out the win, but they will have their work cut out for them.

Prediction: Manchester City to win 2-1

Arsenal vs Leeds United

Bukayo Saka used the international break to entrench his place in the English squad. The form on display for Arsenal every week was on show against Italy and Ukraine, and he will need to continue to be exceptional if Arsenal wants to lift the League trophy in May. The Gunner’s form has put some daylight between them and City – six wins in the last six, scoring at least three goals in five – as they sprint towards their first title in 19 years.

Leeds were once nicknamed the Peacocks and this talented team are close to strutting. Impressive performances in their last two games – a 2-2 draw with Brighton, followed by a 4-2 win away at Wolves – has allowed them to pull away from relegation trouble. Manager Javi Gracia has failed in three H2Hs against the Gunners, but this is the first time he will come up against Mikel Arteta. A loss and Leeds could fall back into an ugly relegation fight – there are just three points separating Southampton on the bottom and Leeds in 14th place. Motivation matter, Leeds want to stay in the Premier League, but Arsenal want to win it all.

Leeds will relish the underdog tag and go for it as they always do. Saka will be the man for Arsenal, while Jack Harrison will hope he can continue his run of goals. However, no one expects anything but an Arsenal win.

Prediction: Arsenal to win 3-1

IPL 2023

Sport biggest and most colourful festival is back. For the first time in four years, Indian Premier League home fans can cheer on their heroes. The spectacle starts Friday with reigning Champions, Gujarat Titans, taking on 2021 winners Chennai Super Kings. This season teams are allowed one substitution per game. We can’t wait to see how much more this Impact Player rule will up the excitement. There is also the T20 Men’s World Cup later this year, how will key players manage their IPL workload with a place in national squads in mind?

The Gujarati franchise boasts a solid middle order of Hardik Pandya, David Miller, and Shubnam Gil. The addition of Kane Williamson and West Indian all-rounder Alzarri Joseph boosts the squad and they have been labelled as favourites for 2023.
