Fulham vs Arsenal

What a strange season this is turning out to be.

This weekend could add to the strangeness. City must win. Liverpool should win. United must prove they can get up off the floor and London minnows Brentford and Fulham are in line for European competition.

Fulham welcome Arsenal to Craven Cottage in the early Sunday kickoff. Could this be the game that punctures the Cottagers dream season?

Marco Silva’s midfield will have to manage without the suspended Joao Palhinha, Fulham’s player of the season so far, but mercurially talented Manor Solomon, returning from a long-term injury, presents a different challenge to the Gunners midfield.

Some would say, Sunday is the perfect time to play Arsenal. They beat relegation candidates Bournemouth with a 97th minute goal last week, then travelled to Portugal to play Sporting Lisbon on Thursday. Injuries mean Arteta may not have a recognized striker in his match day squad, but Gabrielle Martinelli has proven effective just in front of the Gunners creative midfield.

Preseason previews had Arsenal competing for a top 4 place but, if results go their way this weekend, they could open up an 8-point lead at the top.

Prediction:

Arsenal to win 3 -1

Other highlights this weekend:

Brentford to win at Everton,

Chelsea to fail to score at Leicester and,

Brighton to add to Leeds woes.
