Football – Premier League is back!

Domestic football returned during the week with the commencement of the Carabao Cup. But now we can turn our attention back to the Premier League. There will be a handful of players that won’t be available due to their participation in the latter stages of the World Cup in Qatar. Most clubs should have a strong and fit squad for selection, so we can expect an exciting round of football for the penultimate round of 2022.

Top Six Recap

When we left for Qatar, the Gunners were on fire and looked like serious title contenders. They only suffered one loss to United but have been impressive. We expect that run to continue against West Ham. Title favourites, Man City, suffered a defeat to Brentford. That should prove to be a blip in their normal procedures and should get back to winning ways when they face Leeds at Elland Road.

Newcastle has been amazing and nothing else. Eddie Howe and his troops will hope they can continue when they face Leicester at the King Power Stadium. Tottenham had to claw their way back to defeat Leeds in their last outing. Antonio Conte’s men need to show more resilience as they face a tricky encounter against Brentford.

Erik Ten Hag has finally got the Red Devils on the right track. Lots have happened since their win over Fulham. It’s time to move on from Ronaldo and look to a stronger second-half-season performance. A home win over Forest will be ideal for the mood of the fans, especially with the clear sale of the club happening soon. After 14 games, Liverpool finds themselves 6th on 22 points. Many believe that they’re out of the title race, but it’s too early for those statements. A win at Villa Park should get the belief back in Jurgen Klopp.
