TWO IN A ROW FOR CSK
The Chennai Super Kings produced a clinical all-round display to defeat the Kolkata Knight Riders by 32 runs in yesterday’s Indian Premier League clash at Chepauk.
Batting first, CSK posted a competitive 192/5 in 20 overs, led by a composed 48 from Sanju Samson and a fluent 41 from Dewald Brevis. Earlier impetus came from Ayush Mhatre’s brisk 38, while KKR’s bowling was steadied by Kartik Tyagi, who picked up two wickets.
In reply, KKR struggled to keep up with the required rate, finishing on 160/7. Ramandeep Singh (35) and Rovman Powell (31*) offered resistance with a 63-run stand but lacked support from the top order.
CSK’s bowlers dominated, with Noor Ahmad starring with figures of 3/21, effectively choking the chase.
The win marked CSK’s second consecutive victory, while KKR remained winless in the tournament.
