The Springboks produced another dominant performance in the 2026 Nations Championship, sweeping Wales aside 43-0 at Kings Park in Durban to preserve their perfect start.

Rassie Erasmus’ much-changed side scored seven unanswered tries, underlining their depth, physical power, and ruthless efficiency.

South Africa took control from the outset, driven by their powerful forwards. Jasper Wiese opened the scoring before Cobus Reinach and Herschel Jantjies extended the lead, and captain Jesse Kriel’s try before halftime put the hosts firmly in command. Paul de Villiers, Jaco Williams, and Kurt-Lee Arendse added second half tries to complete the rout, while the Springboks’ set-piece dominance and relentless defence kept Wales scoreless.

Although handling errors in the wet conditions prevented an even bigger winning margin, South Africa remained in complete control throughout. Debut fly-half Vusi Moyo impressed with a composed performance, highlighting the remarkable depth available to Erasmus ahead of a demanding second half of the season.

The emphatic victory made it three wins from three in the inaugural Nations Championship, keeping the Springboks at the top of the standings and reinforcing their status as the team to beat in world rugby.

Phase two of the Nations Championship is set for November, but the Springboks will have a bunch of internationals to look forward to in the interim.
