MAGNIFICENT MARAUDING MALCOLM MARX

Springbok hooker Malcolm Marx added another remarkable chapter to his glittering international career by becoming South Africa’s highest try-scoring forward.

The 2025 Player of the year crossed the line for his 27th Test try in Saturday’s emphatic 45-21 Nations Championship victory over England.

Marx powered over from the back of a trademark rolling maul late in the second half, taking his tally to 27 international tries and moving clear as the most prolific forward in Springbok history. The milestone underlined the 32-year-old’s reputation as one of world rugby’s most devastating finishers, with his strength, timing and relentless work at close range making him a constant threat to opposition defences.

The try capped another outstanding display from the experienced hooker as South Africa dominated England in the opening match of the inaugural Nations Championship. The Springboks’ powerful pack laid the platform throughout before their clinical attack finished the job in front of a jubilant home crowd.

Marx’s latest achievement further cements his legacy as one of the greatest hookers ever to wear the green and gold. A two-time Rugby World Cup winner, he has consistently delivered on the biggest stages, and his record-breaking 27th Test try is yet another reminder of his immense value to Rassie Erasmus’ world champions as they chase more silverware in 2026.
