HAMILTON SHINES FOR FERRARI

Lewis Hamilton produced a masterclass at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix on Sunday, claiming his first Formula One victory for Ferrari and ending a winless streak that stretched back to 2024.

The seven-time world champion delivered a perfectly executed race, using an aggressive three-stop strategy and capitalising on a late Virtual Safety Car period to take control of the race.

Hamilton crossed the line ahead of Mercedes driver George Russell, who had started from pole position, while McLaren’s Lando Norris completed the podium. The result marked the first all-British top three finish in Formula One since 1968 and provided one of the standout moments of the 2026 season so far.

The race also reshaped the championship battle. Series leader Kimi Antonelli was on course for another strong points finish before a late mechanical failure forced the Mercedes rookie to retire. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Spain’s Fernando Alonso also did not finish, adding to the drama of an eventful afternoon.

Hamilton’s emotional triumph not only secured Ferrari’s first Grand Prix victory of the season but also significantly tightened the championship standings heading into the next round in Austria.
