GERMANY CUT TIES WITH NAGELSMANN

Germany is looking for a new head coach after Julian Nagelsmann stepped down following a disappointing FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign.

His spell ended after a shock Round of 32 defeat to Paraguay, with the German Football Association (DFB) confirming his departure after talks in Frankfurt. Appointed in 2023, the 38-year-old helped restore optimism around the national team, but another early World Cup exit proved decisive.

Attention has now turned to his possible successor, with former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund manager Jürgen Klopp the clear favourite. Klopp, currently Red Bull’s Head of Global Football, is reportedly open to taking charge if an agreement can be reached.

The DFB are expected to act quickly as preparations begin for UEFA Euro 2028 and Germany look to return to the top of European football.
