DONALD WARNS BANGLADESH: AUSTRALIA WILL HIT BACK!
Bangladesh may have made history in Darwin, but former South African fast-bowling great Allan Donald has warned that Australia will come out fighting in the second Test in Mackay.
Bangladesh stunned the cricket world by securing a nine-wicket victory in the opening Test, their first-ever Test win on Australian soil. The result left the hosts facing fundamental questions after being comprehensively outplayed.
Donald believes Bangladesh should expect a completely different Australian side when the two teams meet again. The former Proteas star’s message is simple: Australia have been embarrassed, and that could make them extremely dangerous.
The Aussies will also have selection changes to consider, with Matt Renshaw replacing Jake Weatherald after the opener’s disappointing performance in Darwin. Scott Boland is also in contention for a place in the XI.
Australia cannot afford another defeat. A second loss would give Bangladesh a stunning 2-0 series victory, while a strong response in Mackay would help restore Australian pride.
Bangladesh have earned their historic moment, but Donald’s warning is clear: Australia’s wounded pride could unleash a furious backlash.
The second Test begins in Mackay on August 22.
