In Egypt, football giants Al Ahly fired former Orlando Pirates coach José Riveiro after just three months in charge. Riveiro managed only one win in seven games, and a 2-0 loss to Pyramids FC sealed his fate.
A club meeting led by President Mahmoud El Khatib and sporting director Mohamed Youssef decided to part ways with the Spaniard.
Riveiro had success in South Africa, winning two Nedbank Cups and three MTN 8 titles with Pirates. But at Al Ahly, he could not match the high expectations. The club will now look for a new coach to lead the next chapter

In England, Liverpool made it three wins from three in the Premier League after a 1-0 victory against Arsenal at Anfield.
The game was cagey until the 83rd minute, when Dominik Szoboszlai curled in a brilliant free kick to seal the win. The result keeps Arne Slot’s side top of the league with nine points.
Liverpool’s manager praised his team’s fight and focus, but Arsenal and coach Mikel Arteta face big questions. Despite signing striker Viktor Gyökeres and strengthening the squad, the Gunners still look uncertain about their title chances.
If they fail to win silverware this season, pressure will grow on Arteta’s future at the club.
