CHELSEA PUT £120M DEADLINE ON ENZO FERNANDEZ
Chelsea has turned up the heat on Manchester City by setting a firm deadline for the Premier League champions to make an offer for Enzo Fernandez.
The Blues have told City that they must submit a bid by 5pm on Friday, August 14, if they want to sign the Argentine midfielder. Chelsea are demanding around £120 million for the 25-year-old, making it a huge financial decision for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Manchester City’s interest has grown as they look to strengthen their midfield, especially with Rodri expected to join Barcelona. Fernandez appeals to City because of his technical skill, energy, and top-level experience.
The situation is also intriguing because Fernandez previously worked under City boss Enzo Maresca at Chelsea, while reports suggest the midfielder could be open to a reunion.
However, Chelsea are making their position clear: pay the £120m asking price by the deadline or Fernandez stays at Stamford Bridge. With time running out, City must now decide whether the World Cup winner is worth breaking the bank for.
