SEA ROBBERS SECURE A VIKING

Orlando Pirates have strengthened their attacking options with the signing of Norwegian striker Sebastian Pedersen from Sogndal Fotball ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The 27-year-old has signed a two-year contract with an option for a further year as new head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou continues to reshape his squad for domestic and continental competition.

Pedersen arrives in South Africa with an impressive goalscoring record, having netted 51 goals in his last 117 appearances while also representing Norway at every youth level from Under-15 to Under-21.

Orlando Pirates described their newest recruit as a “one-touch finisher” whose movement and clinical finishing make him an ideal addition to the Buccaneers’ frontline.

The move underlines Pirates’ ambition to defend their Betway Premiership title and mount a serious challenge in the CAF Champions League. With competition for places expected to intensify, Pedersen will battle for a regular starting role as he looks to make an immediate impact in South African football.

Supporters will now be eager to see whether the Norwegian can quickly adapt to the local game and become the prolific striker Pirates have been searching for ahead of a demanding campaign.
