Germany has officially ushered in a new era after appointing Jürgen Klopp as the national team’s new head coach.

The German Football Association (DFB) confirmed the long-awaited appointment, entrusting the former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund manager with the task of restoring Die Mannschaft to the summit of international football ahead of the next major tournaments.

Speaking at his unveiling, Klopp expressed both excitement and determination, while also taking aim at sections of the German media for what he described as the harsh treatment of previous national team coaches. He urged journalists and supporters to unite behind the squad instead of creating unnecessary negativity.

“I’ve seen how quickly coaches have been criticised and judged,” Klopp said. “Constructive criticism is part of football, but constant attacks help nobody. The national team belongs to everyone, and success only comes when we pull in the same direction.”

Klopp added that his focus would remain on building a competitive, fearless Germany side capable of challenging the world’s best, insisting that hard work, patience, and unity would be the foundations of the team’s revival.
