ALL HAIL THE ASSIST KING
Bruno Fernandes finally broke the assist record while United ended their season on high note.
Manchester United ended the 2025/26 Premier League season in emphatic fashion with a commanding 3-0 victory over Brighton at the Amex Stadium, sealing third place and capping off a remarkable resurgence under Michael Carrick. The afternoon, however, belonged to captain Bruno Fernandes, who delivered another masterclass to print his name into Premier League history.
Fernandes registered his 21st league assist when Patrick Dorgu headed in his precise corner, setting a new single-season Premier League record and surpassing Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne. He later scored himself as United eased to victory and ended the season on a high.
Fernandes’ record-breaking season also earned him two of English football’s top individual awards. Earlier this week, he was named Premier League Player of the Season and also received the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year award after leading United back into the Champions League.
After a turbulent few seasons, Manchester United finally appear to be moving forward again — and Fernandes has been the driving force behind their revival.
