DECHAMBEAU SHINES AT LIV GOLF SA
The LIV Golf South Africa tournament, held from 19–22 March 2026 at Steyn City in Johannesburg, marked a historic and phenomenally successful debut for the league on African soil.
As part of LIV Golf’s expanding global calendar, the event combined elite competition with a festival-like atmosphere, drawing significant attention from both local and international audiences.
The tournament delivered a dramatic sporting spectacle, with Bryson DeChambeau emerging as the standout performer. He claimed the individual title after a thrilling playoff victory over Jon Rahm, with both players finishing at an impressive 26-under-par after four rounds. DeChambeau’s composure under pressure, including a decisive birdie in the playoff, secured his second consecutive LIV Golf win and his fifth overall title on the tour.
In the team competition, DeChambeau’s Crushers GC also triumphed, narrowly defeating the South African-based Southern Guards. Their victory highlighted the strength and cohesion of the team format that is central to the LIV Golf structure.
