4 IN A ROW FOR KIMI

At just 19 years old, Kimi Antonelli continued his remarkable rise in Formula One by claiming a fourth consecutive Grand Prix victory at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.

The Mercedes driver again showed composure well beyond his years, coming through a dramatic race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve to extend his lead in the 2026 Drivers’ Championship.

The race initially appeared destined to be a showdown between Antonelli and his Mercedes teammate George Russell. Russell started from pole and engaged in a thrilling wheel-to-wheel battle with the Italian during the opening stages. However, the contest ended heartbreakingly on lap 30 when Russell suffered a power unit failure and was forced to retire while fighting for the lead.

From there, Antonelli controlled the race brilliantly, finishing over ten seconds ahead of Lewis Hamilton, who secured Ferrari’s best Grand Prix result of the season with second place. Max Verstappen completed the podium for Red Bull after a composed drive in tricky conditions.

McLaren had a difficult afternoon, with neither driver scoring. Lando Norris retired, while Oscar Piastri received a penalty after contact with Alex Albon. Antonelli now leads the championship by 43 points, and Mercedes have strengthened their hold on both titles.

Next up on the F1 calendar will be the Monaco Grand Prix and it will be a test for the young Italian so make sure you get those early bets in.
