2025/2026 PREMIER LEAGUE REVIEW

The 2025/26 Premier League season will be remembered as one of the most dramatic and unpredictable in recent history. It featured an intense title race, emotional farewells, unexpected battles for European qualification, and a relegation fight that lasted until the final day.

At the summit, Arsenal finally ended their long wait for another league crown, securing the title under Mikel Arteta after a superbly consistent campaign. The Gunners combined attacking flair with defensive discipline and finished seven points ahead of rivals Manchester City. Erling Haaland once again dominated the scoring charts, while Arsenal’s balance across the squad proved decisive.

The race for Europe provided incredible drama. Manchester United recovered strongly to return to the UEFA Champions League places, while Aston Villa capped a remarkable year by winning the UEFA Europa League. AFC Bournemouth achieved one of the stories of the season by qualifying for Europe for the first time in club history before manager Andoni Iraola left the club.

Chelsea suffered another disappointing season, missing out on European football after a chaotic campaign marked by inconsistency and managerial turmoil.

The clubs representing England in Europe next season are:

  • UEFA Champions League: Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Aston Villa.
  • UEFA Europa League: AFC Bournemouth and Sunderland.
  • UEFA Conference League: Brighton & Hove Albion.
  • If Crystal Palace beat Rayo Vallecano in Wednesday evening’s UEFA Conference League final, they will qualify for the Europa League as an added English club.

This will be the first time nine English clubs will be taking part across the three European club competitions.
